We are delighted that the chairman of Shropshire Badger Group, Jim Ashley, and his wife, Jude, were recognised with a special award from the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) at the House of Lords on Wednesday 18th October 2017, in recognition of their efforts to protect badgers over many years.

Jim, 76, and Jude, 74, have been volunteering with Shropshire Badger Group since its formation 30 years ago. Jim has held the position of chairman for many years.

Jim and Jude are also spearheading the group's successful local badger vaccination programme, in response to the government’s badger cull.

Jim and Jude received their honour at the Animal Action Awards event, hosted by Baroness Gale and presented by TV wildlife presenter Bill Oddie.
